Shaw Hardwood Flooring
Laminate
flooring is a convenient, easy to clean, cheap flooring material which can be easily fitted at home. High quality
flooring and excellent advice from the Shaw hardwood flooring team will ensure both a successful
and beautiful room redecoration. Shaw hardwood flooring offers enough variety to
install a purpose designed floor in every room of the house, be it solid wood or laminate.
Shaw hardwood flooring is an innovator in the
laminate and wooden flooring industry, having designed and patented the VersaLock™ flooring system. This is
Shaw hardwood flooring installation at its easiest. Unique tongue and groove joints enable the
floor to be laid with ease, without the need for adhesive to fix the planks in place. The sides are held firmly in
place by the neighboring planks. The edges can then be covered with a baton skirting board.
A common complaint with many cheaper laminate flooring is that
walking is unnaturally noisy. The Silent-Step™ system, another Shaw innovation, is an underlying material which
cushions the step and gives a sound much closer to walking on a solid hardwood floor. When laying this under
Shaw hardwood flooring an extra layer of insulation is formed, cushioning the step and insulating
from noise, vibration as well as boosting fuel economy.
Moisture can be a serious problem with wooden floors and to
counter this, all Shaw hardwood flooring is protected with a highly durable aluminum oxide
urethane coating. This ensures maximum protection and lifespan, whilst preventing moisture damage.
Shaw hardwood flooring ranges between $4 and $20
per square foot, depending on the style, thickness and finish of the wood. The hardwood is available in 3”
and 5” solid wooden planks. Each is labeled for its suitability in areas of high moisture such as a basement or
bathroom. Check the installation system on each model as many still require nailing or gluing in place. There is a
range of over 20 wood types, each with different shading options to suit the entire home. The 5” and 3” solid
wooden floors are ecologically friendly, and will wear and age naturally and last for decades.
Shaw hardwood flooring has an exceptional record
in the flooring business and is a name you can trust. Their innovations have made home flooring an easy DIY task,
and you can be sure of a high quality floor that will stand the test of time and age well with the
house.
